Review by E. Occiano : Great stroller for the price 4 Star

We chose this stroller for the ease of use, practicality, and style. It has turned out to be an awesome choice for us. The car seat adapter has worked well with our Graco snugride 32. It is extremely easy to fold and get into the car, it maneuvers easily (even one handed), and has a smooth, comfortable ride for our infant. We considered other high end strollers, but this offered everything we were looking for in a stroller (somewhat light but sturdy, easy to use) so the low price was just an added bonus. I would give it 5 stars if it came with a console and if the color choices were more fun and bright like the Quinny brand strollers. My husband and I are shorter than average and it hasn't been a problem. We definitely recommend this if you're looking for a quality stroller and don't want to spend close to a thousand dollars to get one.

Review by New parent "cd" : Buy this stroller!!! 5 Star

When our son graduated out of us travel system stroller that was a hand me down and falling apart, I knew what I wanted in a stroller. I wanted a lightweight stroller I could EASILY fold down and would fit in my small car trunk but was rugged enough for a full day's outing at the zoo. I really love this stroller. It is so compact does great on any surface and my son loves to ride around in it. Highly recommended!

Review by taterty : Love this stroller! 4 Star

This is a great stroller! It maneuvers over bumps with ease, folds like a dream with onehanded fold. That is my husband favorite thing about the stroller. I like you can add a solid snack tray on to the stroller when the child is older. The cons to the stroller is that it doesn't come with parent console. You can buy one but I think it should come standard. Also storage basket is small and hard to get a diaper bag in and out of. If you are looking for a well made stroller that will be great for city streets or out at the mall this stroller will fit those needs.

Review by JulesMC "Julia" : Happy with our Purchase 4 Star

We chose the city mini because of it being the absolute easiest stroller to fold. Now after having the baby, I am so glad it is easy to fold, not to mention is folds up so it can easily fit in the trunks of our car - it even went in the front seat once when the trunk was full. We also purchased the City bassinet so we could use the stroller as an infant stroller. Our daughter sleeps in the bassinet by our bed every night and it clips on the stroller very easily if we want to take her for walks in it. We have the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio car seat and it clips on the car seat adaptor with ease.

The stroller is light and easy to maneuver. I am 5' 7" and my husband 6' 1" and the handle height is perfect for both of us. We often take the stroller through the grass at the park while walking our dog and it handles the terrain beautifully. Perhaps we would have looked at the other city strollers more carefully for more flexibility in tire size and handle operation, but we are very happy with this stroller.

When our daughter is older the canopy is very large to block the sun and it has full recline if she is sleepy. We like that we never had to buy one of those plasticy graco stroller kits and it isn't necessarily making the statement of a bugaboo, but City has a lifetime warranty and is very well built.

Best quality for the price - and we were only looking at top end options. Bugaboo, Peg Perego, etc. were other strollers we considered. None fold up as easily so even a new grandma can fold the stroller.

Review by Chrissy : Love the concept, not as practical as I thought 3 Star

So I loved this stroller and everything about it from it's look to the shade to the ease of folding and lightweight stature. Unfortunately I wanted this stroller to be my only stroller and thought it could be with the infant carrier bar added on. Then I wanted the parent console for the extra storage and the baby tray for when my little guy grew. When you add it all up the stroller ends up costing close to 350 and with the items added on, the ease of folding decrease. In addition, the infant carrier never felt sturdy to me and one day the front wheel randomly fell off. Also with the infant carrier on it you could tip the stroller over with very little effort and so I could never leave the baby in it without having one hand on the stroller. These were safety concerns to me and I wasn't willing to sacrifice safety for style and ease of use. One other practical thing is that the basket underneath was too small for my diaper bag and hanging the bag on the handle was enough to tip the stroller with my 10 lb baby in it.

All that being said, I think this would be a great stroller for an older baby that you don't mind having facing away from you and if you are willing to spend a lot of money. I just wouldn't reccommend using it with an infant carrier. I did return it and get a middle-high end travel system and another light weight stroller for the same total price.

One last thing worth mentioning is that this stroller is NOT a jogging stroller even though it is made by baby jogger.

Review by Aerith : Good Over-All Stroller 4 Star

I have three kids under 4, and have been through a variety of strollers. This one is a good over-all stroller. Hands down, it is the easiest folding stroller I have ever seen. It's great for short shopping trips when I'm out with three kids all by myself because I canfold this stroller AND put in my car with one hand while I hold the baby in the other arm. It has some great features, and some features I thought could be improved.

Pros:
Easiest fold ever
Lightweight for the size
Excellent sun shade
Great recline
Straps are easy to adjust
Nice size--more substantial than an umbrella stroller, but smaller than a standard stroller
Handlebar is a nice height (I'm 5'!0" and it's very comfortable)

Cons:
Steering and ride are okay. For a standard, small-wheeled stroller, it's fine. Great for the mall, less than stellar at the park or on long walks or anywhere there might be something other than completely smooth pavement.
You can't hang stuff off the handlebars without buying those special hooks (not a huge deal, but it's been an annoyance a few times)
The storage underneath is a little difficult to get to. Not as bad as other strollers, but could be easier.

Like a lot of families with more than one child, I've owned quite a few strollers, and this is one of my favorites. It's the one that I keep in my car all the time for general errand running and shopping. It's not the stroller I take on nature walks or trips to the nature reserve, but over all it's a great general-use stroller.

Review by Shopaholic : New and improved 2011 version.... 5 Star

The product description here on Amazon does not state this, but the stroller I received is the new and improved 2011 model which was just released in October 2010. There are several buying choices for various vendors, but I purchased mine directly from Amazon even though it was a couple of extra dollars. The new strollers will have a large blue sticker on the box stating that it is a 2011 model.

Previous model years of the Baby Jogger City Mini had a "slouchy" seat, that many people described as hammock-like for the child sitting in it. The 2011 version of the stroller has a PE board inserted in the seat back, which corrects this problem. The seat back is now firm and doesn't sink in. It seems very comfortable for my 6 month old baby. If you have an older model of the stroller, you can purchase a PE board directly from the Baby Jogger company for approximately $10 or $15. It slides into the seat back, and you can not see it once it is installed.

Another improvement in the 2011 model is the addition of velcro straps that enable you to make the seat slightly more upright if you choose to do so. When attached, they pull the seat back about 2 inches forward which enables the child to sit up straighter. Personally, I am not impressed with this new feature. The straps are a bit of a pain to fasten, and you have to detach them before folding the stroller.

I really like the features of this stroller. The best thing is the easy fold. It is simple to do with one hand, while holding your child in the other arm. Basically, you grab a fabric handle on the seat and give it a slight tug. The stroller collapses very easily, and with no hassle. There are some good videos on YouTube that show the folding process. The folding mechanism is something you need to see to fully appreciate. I previously had a Maclaren Quest stroller, which had a much more complicated fold that I needed both hands to do.

The unfold is almost as easy. I can hold my child in one arm, and pull the stroller out of the back of my SUV and unfold it with the other arm.

The sunshade on this stroller is enormous. You can choose to pull it out either 1/3, 2/3, or the full way out. There are also 2 clear viewing windows on the sunshade which enable you to see your child. When not in use, there is a fabric flap that has velcro to hold it in place.

The storage basket underneath is a decent size, but because of the structure of the stroller, it is difficult to fit a diaper bag in. You can easily tuck in smaller items like blankets, toys, a jacket, small bags, etc though. Even though the manufacturer does not recommend it, I hang my large diaper bag from the handle. The stroller is VERY stable, and it does not tip backward. With the Maclaren Quest that I previously owned, a small diaper bag made it tip over.

On the back of the seat, there is a large mesh pocket that runs almost the full length of the seat. It has elastic on top, so things don't easily fall out. You can put jackets or blankets in this pocket, as long as you fold or roll them first. Small toys fit well too.

My only complaint with this stroller is that it does not have a drink holder. Baby Jogger sells a parent console for the handle, but it is rather pricey. I purchased a Sunshine Kids Stroller Accessory Buggy Buddy for less than $10 here on Amazon, which solves that problem for a nominal cost. Baby Jogger sells accessories for the stroller such as a child snack tray, or a bumper bar. There is also a car seat adapter available for purchase.

Update: We have had this stroller for about 3 months now, and I like it better than ever. We recently took a 9 day cruise with our baby, and brought the stroller along. The large sunshade in the tropical sun was invaluable. My daughter was able to easily nap with the almost flat recline. The easy fold/unfold came in especially handy with getting on and off trolleys, tour buses, water taxis, etc. It definitely is not a good stroller to try to push on a sandy beach, but I wasn't expecting it to be. :)

I also purchased the Baby Jogger Adjustable Belly Bar to attach to the front of the stroller. My baby likes to sit up and hold onto the belly bar. I also attach small toys to the bar using these simple toy straps, Baby Buddy Secure-A-Toy, Black/White.

Review by Mountain Radar : Great for city navigation 5 Star

We've now had this stroller for about a year and used it for our child between 7-19 months. In the middle of that time, we moved from the middle of a dense urban area out to some rural mountains.

It was absolutely phenomenal in the city. No space issues at all even when going through subway gates and navigating tight subway elevators. When we went to small, crowded restaurants, the compact folded form fit behind tables or in coat closets. When we were driving, it fit easily in the trunk of our 94 prizm, and it was light enough that carrying baby in one arm and folded stroller in the other to our second-floor walk-up was something we could do regularly.

Both I and our child liked the many different configurations for the top shade, while allowed you to account for just about any sun or precipitation condition.

In the mountains, the ease of folding/unfolding for car travel has been extremely welcome. Here, we might have wanted slightly bigger wheels than the mini has, but we don't really have problems even going over rough terrain. I'm not sure how it would do for us in heavy snow; we managed to avoid most of this year's craziness.

The three minor complaints about the stroller are

1) like other reviewers have said, kids have something of a negative lean, even when the back is adjusted all the way up. My child tends to lean forward to see what's going on. I haven't tried the trick of putting cardboard in to stiffen things up, but have been tempted.

2) The basket is a little low to the ground and the back netting pocket seems a little shallow. While that's a slight negative, the space and weight tradeoff has been well worth it.

3) Yeah, there's no place to put a drink if you have one, which is only an issue because it's a little tough to comfortably navigate around turns with one hand. I don't think it's any tougher than any other stroller, but it can be a little unsettling if you are running errands.

We haven't regretted the choice to go with the slightly smaller, but lighter and more compact, stroller at all.

Review by Max : OK 3 Star

It's a good stroller overall.

Pros:
+ I like the way it looks;
+ I like the way it drives;
+ folding can really be done with just one hand (but see below);
+ the shade is awesome;
+ good value for the money;

Cons:
- cargo basket, although adequate in capacity, is quite hard to get to - our diper bag (which is actually quite small) just doesn't fit through the openings;
- all accessories, like belly bar, rain cover, etc. are extra;
- some accessories, like "universal" footmufs are not compatible due to shade essentially being one piece with the back support(I had to improvise a bit to fit mine - Elks&Angels Snuggle Pod); this was my biggest concern, since we live in a cold climate and needed a full-size footmuff to cover the baby (the only footmuff available from bayjogger is a joke, since it's too short to cover the baby all the way and would have required heavy clothes anyway);
- when folded, surfaces that your child's sitting on end up on the outside - although not a big deal when it's sunny outside, it becomes an issue in less than ideal weather; also if you need to store the stroller folded (like we do at our daycare center) keep in mind that the handle will be sitting on the ground (unless you store the stroller on it's side, in which case the fabric on one side will get dirty); I pray for no puddles on the floor every time it snows/rains.

Review by AGrey : LOVE IT! 5 Star

I absolutely love this stroller! It rides so smoothly and my 16 month old daughter loves it too. I like that the 2011 model has a stiffer back to it. I have been through three other strollers trying to find something that is universal and doesn't take up all the space in my trunk. This was the winner! I can finally get rid of the other strollers. The best part about it is how easy it folds. It can fold in one hand while holding a baby in the other. I recommend this stroller to anyone looking for something that doesn't take up a lot of space but is bigger than an umbrella stroller. I am so happy with my investment!

One other note: The stone/black color of the stroller is different than in the Amazon.com picture. It's more of a tan color, not gray.
